What would you like to see post October 24

A lot of people have been asking what 350 plans for post Oct 24 and Copenhagen. One thing is certain, we have no intention of calling it a day with Copenhagen, the climate will take a long time to fix and we are in this for the long haul.

We've got lots of ideas about some big schools engagements, reaching out to the wider business community and hosting conversations with farmers about ways to work together for a safe climate.

What do you think would be an effective use of energy after Oct 24 and Copenhagen?

Dave raises some interesting arguments for big marches in the lead up to Copenhagen.

I agree - this is an essential tool to convince the decision makers to do the right thing and adopt the right attitude at the negotiations. I've heard Key over and over say he's non-ideological and will do things if there is a clear public mandate.

Sign On is part of the way there with 150,000 Kiwis having Signed On, but that support which is obviously out there in New Zealand needs to be translated into public, visible support so it can't just be dismissed as people who signed something for 30 seconds on the street.

Greenpeace's Sign On campaign is organising just that – a march in Auckland and Wellington (with a free public concert with top NZ acts to boot) for December 5 - two days before Copenhagen.

We're calling it Planet A.

Get involved and volunteer in the few weeks leading-up (email me on ghughes@greenpeace.org) and get painting those 350 banners and placards.

We are also running a placard design competition for the placards that will be professionally mass produced for you creatives.
